Galal Yafai, 28, scored 4-1 at the Kokugikan Arena to take the UK’s 19th Games gold medal.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” Yafai, the younger brother of professional boxers Kal and Gamal, told BBC Sport. “I’m an Olympic champion and I’m over the moon.

“I’ve been working hard for 6 years, I started boxing and thank God it worked for me. and shows that if you work hard You can reap rewards.

“Everyone back in the UK and Birmingham. The support I received was ridiculous and amazing. I’m just so overwhelm and grateful for everyone who showed me their love.”

Paalam, 23, is aiming to become the first Filipino to win an Olympic boxing gold medal. But was classify as a superior category early on. And is caught by the remaining two players in the first round to chase him down.
